Common questions
Can I check whether a JPG or PNG is good enough to print?
Yes. Upload the image and the free check measures resolution against the production profile, reports the colour space (RGB vs CMYK), and reads the pixel dimensions — the classic reasons a printed photo disappoints.
Which file types does the free checker accept?
PDF, JPG, PNG, TIFF, SVG, HEIC/HEIF (iPhone photos), Photoshop PSD, Illustrator AI and EPS. Formats the engine cannot check yet — WebP, GIF, InDesign or CorelDRAW working files — are recognised and rejected with a clear explanation of what to export instead.
How is checking an image different from checking a PDF?
An image has no embedded fonts, page boxes or PDF/X markers, so those rules report as not applicable instead of failing. What matters for an image — resolution at print size, colour space, dimensions — is measured the same way as inside a PDF.
Do you convert my file?
For checking, yes: HEIC, PSD and EPS are converted to a canonical working copy so the engine can measure them, and we tell you what the conversion changes. The free tool does not return a converted production file — that is part of full Prepta.
