About Prepta
Prepta is prepress automation software for print shops. It turns the artwork customers send into production-ready files: each file is preflighted against the shop’s production profile, the fixes that profile marks as safe are applied, the result is checked again, and anything that needs a decision goes to an operator.

Print businesses that receive artwork from their customers and have to get it through production: digital and commercial printers, large-format and sign makers, label and sticker printers, screen and textile printers. The problem it solves
Preflight software has been good for a long time. What it was never built for is the file the customer actually sends. A screenshot, a Canva export and a professionally prepared PDF all fail the same checks, and the operator is left doing the same diagnosis every day to work out which kind of failure this one is.
Most of that work is a familiar handful of problems: missing bleed, RGB images, low effective resolution, fonts that are not embedded. Each one means an email to the customer, a wait and a second check. Prepta resolves the problems that have one correct answer for the profile, and hands the rest to an operator with the measurement already taken.
How the automation works
Five steps run on every file. The production profile assigned to the job decides what each step is allowed to do.
- 01 · IntakeThe file is stored exactly as supplied. That original is never overwritten.
- 02 · UnderstandPrepta works out what arrived — a print PDF, a Canva export, a phone photo — and reports a likely source with a confidence level, not a certainty.
- 03 · PreflightThe file is checked against the profile: page geometry and bleed, colour, effective resolution, fonts, transparency.
- 04 · FixOnly corrections the profile authorises are applied. Auto runs without a click where your workspace allows it; review is held for an operator; block means the file cannot go to production as supplied.
- 05 · ValidateThe output is checked against the same profile before release, and every change is logged with the values used and the rule that allowed it.

Never bluff. Never fix silently.
Automation that changes customer artwork has to be able to show its work. When Prepta checks a file, you can see what was checked. When it changes a file, you can see what changed. When something cannot be verified, it says so instead of reporting a pass. The aim is to know what happened to every file.
Say what it does, and what it does not
Every capability on this site is either available or marked as not available. Where Prepta cannot fix something, it says so instead of approximating.
The original is sacred
The customer file is preserved exactly as supplied. Repairs are new versions, always comparable against v1.
Automation is a permission, not a default
Nothing is transformed unless a production profile authorises it. Enabling automation is a per-rule decision made by you.
The operator stays responsible
Deciding whether a job is acceptable to print is a human judgement. Our job is to make that judgement fast and well informed.
What Prepta is not
Not a silent fixer
Prepta returns the corrected file together with the untouched original and a record of every change, and escalates what it cannot fix safely instead of approximating.
Not a PDF editor

Not a RIP, an MIS or a web-to-print system
Prepta sits between a file arriving and the file entering production, and hands over a validated file. It does not replace the systems on either side.
